The Gathering at the Cross-brings together young adults ages 18-30 on a quarterly basis for a multi-cultural, non-denominational worship experience centered on Christ. Participating churches take turns hosting The Gathering in order to promote diversity, increase participation, and encourage greater unity. Under the guidance of several adult leaders, the young adults are the ones who MINISTER for the entire evening. Our young adults are tremendously gifted and it is exciting to see them REACH their peers in creative ways that honor the Lord with their hearts, minds and souls.
Each Gathering includes an opening icebreaker; praise and worship; ministry through spoken word, drama, dance and/or poetry; and a message. The worship service is followed by a more informal time featuring free food and Open Mic, where young adults can freely minister using their God-given talents. (There is also a brief meeting for group leaders during the fellowship time just to obtain contact information and feedback.) Open Mic is open to all, but we do limit it to Christian presentations and ask participants to sign up during opening registration time. |
